A Rainy Night

A rainy night
no one lying by his side
a lonely man is he tonight.
He's all alone.

He falls asleep
and in his dream'n he clearly sees
a lonely girl who haunts his dreams.
She's calling him.

Where can she be?
She's not here with me.
Oh lord where can she be?

Well now I do
believe that some dreams can come true
I know because I'm here with you.
You're holding me.

Where can she be?
She's right here with me.
Yeah she's right here with me!

I could never let you go
and I'll see to it that our love will grow.
'Cause I love you darlin' and it's plain to see
you love me too
I can't believe you do.

As the world gets colder
everybody needs a shoulder
but I need nothing when I hold her.

A rainy night
but this time she is by his side
a happy man is he tonight.
he's not alone.

Where can she be?
She's right here with me.
Yeah she's right here with me!

Proverbs

It was late one winter's evening and it was pouring rain.
Sitting in the bar room thinking, staring into space.
When I was summoned to the present by a lady who,
seemed to me to be real anxious for some comfort too.

Well she took the chair right by me sitting by my side.
I could tell she was unhappy, could see it in her eyes.
When she said "Hey, I like your music and I like you too."
Something way down deep inside me said,
"You'll be in trouble soon."

How now I regret the moment, when she took a seat.
Never thought that unhappy woman could be so deadly.
I wish I'd listened to you Preacher when he was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1:32, 33.

Well I found my self at her place after I told my wife.
I got a gig, it was a long way, won't be coming home tonight.
Now this was nothing new to me friend, I've done it all before.
I told myself this would be the last time and there would be no more.

It turned out to be one too much.
That's what happened to me.
I lost my wife, I lost my family and got calamity.
I wish I'd listened to you Preacher when you was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1:32, 33.

I said,
"Find another door for your knocking.
Don't need no God to show me the way.
I got my house, I got my car, I got my fun."
Ha, and he was on his way.

Is that Preacher somewhere out there, there's something he gotta know.
Now I see it was just madness telling you to go.
I wish I'd listened to ya Preacher when you was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1: 32, 33.

Now I find myself a standing on the other side of the door.
Telling people about the message once I chose to ignore.
I chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore
I once chose to ignore

Antoinette

I've had so called friends come and go.
Full of smiles but behind you hit you low.
But I don't really care,
there's a lesson there,
you just can't seem to trust no one no more.
Once had a friend but even she has gone.

Thinking back on all the things we'd do.
Anything to chase away the blues.
We'd do it all in style
to forget things for a while.
Thinking back I don't know how we had
so much fun with time that went so fast.

Many things I wish I'd told her now!
Never thought our day would ever end some how.
How I wish I could travel back in time to say good bye.
Before she died.

Still got the gift here that she gave me once.
When she did it didn't mean so much.
But now that things have changed
this little gift remains
the only way I can hold on to her.
Funny how good memories some times hurt.

Many things I wish I'd told her now!
Never thought our day would ever end some how.
How I wish I could travel back in time to say good bye.
Say good bye
before she died.

I know that God knows where you are.
I'm sure we'll meet again some day.
I wonder how things will be.
Will you still remember me?
You'll be waiting there for me my friend.
You'll be waiting for me Antoinette.
"Til then, 'til then.

Well I woke up this morning rolled out of bed and to the floor,

one quick look around me and haven't I been here before,

and it was true,

I just about had nothing left to lose.

Well if I'm wanting any better I'm gonna have to make a change,

got back on my feet and I worked on rearrange.

Well I packed up my bags and got my guitar in my hand,

headed into town in search of the promised land and in search of you,

You had to be out there somewhere too.

Arriving at the station train was running down the line,

I didn't have a ticket but I got on for the ride.

Now I'm on the choo, choo, choo choo train,

running on down the track.

Got my troubles and I threw them away,

never ever gonna look back.

Well I'm done with all the stress!

and I'm done with trying to impress!

I'm on the Happiness Express and I'm on my way!

Steam train,

Blue sky,

green country side,

wind in my hair I never felt more alive I was on my way,

picked up my guitar and I played.

Didn't have a care not a worry on my mind,

lost in my world as we traveled down the line.

Well further down the track about a hundred miles or more,

Conductor called out "everybody, all aboard!" and there was you!

With chestnut hair and eyes of blue.

When you said "Hey honey, where are you heading to?"

I picked up my guitar and I told her in this tune.

I'm on the choo, choo, choo choo train,

running on down the track.

Got my troubles and I threw them away,

never ever gonna look back.

Well I'm done with all the stress!

and I'm done with trying to impress!

I'm on the Happiness Express and I'm on my way!

Diamond ring on your finger,

black limousine,

nothing left to hinder,

us living the dream, from now on,

Troubles from the past are now gone.

we got our happy life, happy house and happy home,

happy people all around us happy music and happy poem.

Now if you want the same story take heed to what I suggest,

stop living on your sorrow and ride the Happiness Express,

it's coming round,

next stop is gonna be your town.

Conductor calls out "everybody, all aboard!"

blows on his whistle and they sing with one accord,

I'm on the choo, choo, choo choo train,

running on down the track.

Got my troubles and I threw them away,

never ever gonna look back.

Well I'm done with all the stress!

and I'm done with trying to impress!

I'm on the Happiness Express and I'm on my way!

I'm on the Happiness Express and it leaves today!

I'm on the Happiness Express and I'm on my way!

Yeah!

Dig that guitar!

Ah get happy now!

Yeah!

Yeah!

Music Box

In my head,

I have the memories that we share,

Like the waves that meet the shore from the sea,

We get together and smile back on what we did,

and like the gold in Sovereign Hill,

I do cherish still,

all those memories that I treasure,

in my head.

Now and then,

I think of places I have been,

the sites and sounds are still vivid in my mind,

and like the music-box that plays when it's whined,

it's melody can bring a smile,

even for just a while,

I'll take time to remember,

now and then.

When I'm gone,

I still will live on in this song.

And the day you're feeling down and feeling blue,

and you wish I could be right there with you,

When you sing along with me,

that's where I will be,

in this song,

and your memory,

now sing along.

All right

Adios

Walking through a park,

a starry sky above.

sun not long gone down,

and with the one I love.

or in the light of day,

with sun light on her hair.

The weekends far away,

and secrets that we share.

Rain drops from grey clouds,

run down the window pain.

safely in our house,

by the fire flame.

Simple times like these,

I'm at ease,

to wright my thoughts,

for you to read.

You open at the start,

with the words "Sweet heart."

Good bye Lady,

it's time to go.

Good bye darling,

and adiós.

our moments in a book,

I've  taken time to write.

but time has now run out,

our days have taken flight.

These times you can relive,

from words upon a page,

even be they brief,

they're here with you to stay.

So when you have a need,

to be at peace,

by the window,

you'll sit and read.

and open at the start,

with the words "Sweet Heart."

Good bye Lady,

it's time to go.

Good bye darling,

and adiós.

Tears you cry,

by candle light,

as you relive,

events gone by.

but you'll go on,

and you'll be strong,

and know that I,

am by your side.

You're walking through a park,

a starry sky above.

amongst them you will see,

see the one you love.

BUTTERFLY

Butterfly on my rose won't you tell me where you go.

Tell me what you do,

can I come along with you?

Butterfly if you could speak, won't you tell a tale to me?

tell how you spend your time roaming free.

In a summer's sky,

when you fly with the birds among the fields,

sharing secrets nature forbids you to reveal.

Have you any idea,

of troubles way down here?

A little girl on a swing, brings a memory back to me.

A very long time ago,

a little girl of my own.

My little girl has grown, has a little girl of her own

and a cottage on the hill she calls home.

On an Autumn day.

With fallen leafs at a park they spend a day.

Stop for lunch and hot chocolate at a cafe.

With ice cream on a cone, they make their way back home.

Lying by a stream, I feel nature envelop me.

A rose bush by my side,

sunshine and blue sky.

Birds sing their songs, and white clouds move along,

with a feeling of well being I dream on.

To the sounds of a stream I dream on.

In the shade of a tree I dream on.
