A Rainy Night
A rainy night
no one lying by his side
a lonely man is he tonight.
He's all alone.
He falls asleep
and in his dream'n he clearly sees
a lonely girl who haunts his dreams.
She's calling him.
Where can she be?
She's not here with me.
Oh lord where can she be?
Well now I do
believe that some dreams can come true
I know because I'm here with you.
You're holding me.
Where can she be?
She's right here with me.
Yeah she's right here with me!
I could never let you go
and I'll see to it that our love will grow.
'Cause I love you darlin' and it's plain to see
you love me too
I can't believe you do.
As the world gets colder
everybody needs a shoulder
but I need nothing when I hold her.
A rainy night
but this time she is by his side
a happy man is he tonight.
he's not alone.
Where can she be?
She's right here with me.
Yeah she's right here with me!

Proverbs
It was late one winter's evening and it was pouring rain.
Sitting in the bar room thinking, staring into space.
When I was summoned to the present by a lady who,
seemed to me to be real anxious for some comfort too.
Well she took the chair right by me sitting by my side.
I could tell she was unhappy, could see it in her eyes.
When she said "Hey, I like your music and I like you too."
Something way down deep inside me said,
"You'll be in trouble soon."
How now I regret the moment, when she took a seat.
Never thought that unhappy woman could be so deadly.
I wish I'd listened to you Preacher when he was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1:32, 33.
Well I found my self at her place after I told my wife.
I got a gig, it was a long way, won't be coming home tonight.
Now this was nothing new to me friend, I've done it all before.
I told myself this would be the last time and there would be no more.
It turned out to be one too much.
That's what happened to me.
I lost my wife, I lost my family and got calamity.
I wish I'd listened to you Preacher when you was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1:32, 33.
I said,
"Find another door for your knocking.
Don't need no God to show me the way.
I got my house, I got my car, I got my fun...
Ha, and now I got my aids."
Is that Preacher somewhere out there, there's something he gotta know.
Now I see it was just madness telling you to go.
I wish I'd listened to ya Preacher when you was talking to me.
Talking to me about the Bible and Proverbs 1: 32, 33.
Now I find myself a standing on the other side of the door.
Telling people about the message once I chose to ignore.
I chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore.
I once chose to ignore
I once chose to ignore

Antoinette
I've had so called friends come and go.
Full of smiles but behind you hit you low.
But I don't really care,
there's a lesson there,
you just can't seem to trust no one no more.
Once had a friend but even she has gone.
Thinking back on all the things we'd do.
Anything to chase away the blues.
We'd do it all in style
to forget things for a while.
Thinking back I don't know how we had
so much fun with time that went so fast.
Many things I wish I'd told her now!
Never thought our day would ever end some how.
How I wish I could travel back in time to say good bye.
Before she died.
Still got the gift here that she gave me once.
When she did it didn't mean so much.
But now that things have changed
this little gift remains
the only way I can hold on to her.
Funny how good memories some times hurt.
Many things I wish I'd told her now!
Never thought our day would ever end some how.
How I wish I could travel back in time to say good bye.
Say good bye
before she died.
I know that God knows where you are.
I'm sure we'll meet again some day.
I wonder how things will be.
Will you still remember me?
You'll be waiting there for me my friend.
You'll be waiting for me Antoinette.
"Til then, 'til then.
